US Open 2016: Schedule, TV coverage and live streaming for Day 13

Karolina Pliskova has a rare opportunity: the ability to unseat two world No. 1 players in the same tournament. The 10th seed took down Serena Williams, who has held the ranking since February 2013, in the semifinals at the US Open. Now on Saturday, she will face Angelique Kerber, the second seed and pending world No. 1, regardless of the result of Saturday’s match.

The match is for the women’s singles title at the US Open, and will begin at 4 p.m. ET from Arthur Ashe Stadium. ESPN will carry the television coverage, and WatchESPN will have a livestream.

Kerber has made her first three Grand Slam finals all in 2016, and she already has a win at the Australian Open. She will be favored in Saturday’s final against Pliskova, but the two have something of a recent history. While Kerber has locked in to the No. 1 ranking, she could have secured it earlier, at the Masters in Cincinnati.

There, she made it to the finals and would have earned the ranking had she won, but it was Pliskova who she faced and Pliskova who she lost to in straight sets. She has the head-to-head edge over Pliskova, 4-3, but that finals loss has to be in Kerber’s mind going into Saturday’s match, not to mention the fact that Pliskova just overcame Williams.
