The 2017 French Open is nearly here, and with it the culmination of the clay court season. But it’s a season absent Roger Federer, but one where Rafael Nadal, the “King of Clay,” has looked good in addition to the rest of the usual top players.

That includes names like Andy Murray, defending champion Novak Djokovic, and a man that many think will be able to step up big time sooner rather than later in Dominic Thiem.

NBC carries the broadcast rights to the French Open, and this marks its 35th straight year broadcasting the event. Coverage will take place on NBC, NBCSN, and the Tennis Channel. The latter will broadcast most of the early-round coverage, though NBC will feature first-round play on the tournament’s opening day on Sunday.

As far as online viewing goes, it’s never been easier to catch all the action from Roland Garros. The NBC Sports app on phones and other smart devices is the primary way to watch, as well as NBC Sports Live on any computer here. They will broadcast daily coverage of the courts.

Matches will begin primarily around 11 a.m. local time in Paris, which comes out to 5 a.m. ET for those in the United States. Coverage will typically begin on the Tennis Channel at that time, with the end typically in the afternoon, at 3 p.m.

Nadal is favored to win on the men’s side, with Djokovic, Murray, and Thiem expected to give him the toughest competition.

On the women’s side, Serena Williams isn’t in due to her taking some time off after pregnancy. Maria Sharapova is also out because of a doping violation. That leaves Garbine Muguruza, the defending champion, as one of the favorites to win it. Many believe Simona Halep, like Thiem on the men’s side, will take a step up and win her first major, though.
