After spending much of the first 30 minutes of play walking the ball around and feeling each other out, things sprung to life in the final 15 minutes of the first half between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund. Roman Weidenfeller was forced into multiple saves, but it was Dortmund who had the best chance of the half, with a İlkay Gündoğan shot that hit the crossbar.

Despite all of the chances near the end, it's 0-0 at Eastlands through 45 minutes of play. Joe Hart was called into action late as well, and matched Weidenfeller with a couple of brilliant saves of his own. As shaky as both defenses looked, both goalkeepers were incredibly sharp.
David Silva sparked life into the match in the 34th minute with a shot that was saved by Weidenfeller. It looked like that might have been a bit of a wake-up call for the visitors, and Gündoğan's shot came a couple of minutes after that. Both keepers had to make one more save apiece before the end of the half. As good as Hart and Weidenfeller are, it seems unlikely that this match will stay scoreless. It's turned pretty open, and there's a lot of attacking talent on the pitch that looks sharp.
