Catalonia does not help independence bid with ugliest ever kits

Catalonia’s bid for independence should be put on hold in the wake of their new kits, which set a whole new bar for ugly. The shirts are blue and have some sort or orange and yellow flaming flower design going from the back, over the shoulder and across to the front, where it ends right in the middle.

The shirt does inform you which team is wearing it, spelling out Catalunya on the back, underneath the number. You will be forgiven if you refer to the nationality as “EW”. It is accurate.

There has been a recent push in Catalonia for independence and some have called it the greatest sign of a desire for autonomous nation since before Franco. People can be seen waving the red and yellow Catalonia flag and chants for independence were heard when Barcelona hosted Real Madrid last month. If this shirt is an indication of what Catalonia aims to produce, independence is an awful idea.
