Cesc Fabregas’ acts his way to a Barcelona comeback win

Cesc Fabregas pretended he got shot in the face after bumping chests and the referee looking the other way saw it. The result? A red card and Barcelona comeback!

Cesc Fabregas keyed Barcelona's comeback from 2-0 down to Sevilla with a a pair of goals, but that contribution is not nearly as big as getting Gary Medel sent off. With Barcelona down 2-1, Fabregas bumped chests with Medel then staggered away and grabbed his face like Medel had gouged his eyes out.

Somehow, the referee bought it and sent Medel off. That allowed Fabregas to equalize in the 89th against 10-man Sevilla, then David Villa added a stoppage time winner to grab all three points.

For Fabregas to have the creativity to turn the most innocuous of clashes into a red card is pretty spectacular. And amazingly, it worked.

The referee, who is in the box and not watching the clash at all, showed the red card like he knew what was going on the whole time. His ability to see Fabregas get “mauled” while looking the other direction is mind-blowing. Some people just have extraordinary talents, apparently.
