SummerSlam 2014 results: Bray Wyatt decimates Chris Jericho

That was convincing.

Chris Jericho has done what Chris Jericho has been doing for the last couple of years, and that’s get the living hell beat out of him. Bray Wyatt beat him, and comfortably, after two Sister Abigails.

Fans were excited about the potential of a feud between one of the most consistently great performers of the last era and a new rising star, but it hasn’t gotten off to a great start. Wyatt and Jericho had an average match at Battleground, but they had a great interview a week before this match, bringing some heat back to the rivalry. The crowd reactions to the entrances were huge, at least.

Both got shots at their finishers pretty quickly, and didn’t get very far. Wyatt’s first shot at Sister Abigail was countered, while the first Walls of Jericho was pretty close to the ropes, and Wyatt was able to break it up pretty quickly.

Bray eventually went into his creepy upside-down spider walk thing, then started screaming “I CANNOT DIE BECAUSE I AM ALREADY DEAD.” Jericho acted too shocked to do anything for about five seconds until snapping out of it more or less instantly, then hitting a Codebreaker. Wyatt kicked out, then started to dominate.

The match shifted to the outside of the ring, where Wyatt started to dominate. He delivered a Sister Abigail to Jericho straight into the barricade, then dragged him into the ring and did it again. It was as convincing a finish as anyone could have expected, and Wyatt might be moving on to something bigger.
