A six-man Cruiserweight tag team match opened up the WWE Survivor Series kickoff show, with Rich Swann picking up the pinfall using an impressive standing 450 splash. He led his team, including T.J. Perkins and Noam Dar, to victory over the hard-hitting trio of Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Ariya Daivari.
Survivor Series 2016 results: Rich Swann, Noam Dar, and T.J. Perkins open with Cruiserweight win
A chaotic six-man Cruiserweight tag team match was a good way to kick off Survivor Series.

The match started with Swann in the ring with Nese, the self-styled Premier Athlete, and Swann’s own impressive athleticism proved too much for Nese to handle. He would get overwhelmed by Swann’s speed and grace that transitioned into the flashy style of Perkins before finally escaping and getting Gulak into the match.
Gulak would also struggle to make a big difference in the match for his team, but Daivari was able to finally slow the pace against Dar, taking advantage of the exciting Scotsman taking a little too long on the top rope to deliver two stiff kicks that took all his momentum away. Daivari, Nese, and Gulak would use various submission holds to weaken Dar’s legs, trying to slow him down further and keep him grounded.
Eventually, a miscommunication between Gulak and Daivari would give Dar the opportunity to knock them down and get back to his corner, making the tag to Swann to come flying in and level the playing field again. Gulak tried to slow him back down with a hard shot from outside the ring, but that just brought Perkins and Dar back into the ring to send Gulak and Nese packing with a pair of dives through and then over the ropes.
That cleared the way for a huge heel kick from Swann that turned Daivari’s lights out, and one standing 450 splash in the corner later, Swann was celebrating his win with Perkins and Dar. It was a great start to Survivor Series, and a good way to start drawing interest in the new WWE show 205 Live that will focus on the Cruiserweight division.
