Sami Zayn almost had the match won, but The Miz and his wife, Maryse, pulled out another dirty trick to keep hold of their Intercontinental Championship. This time, Maryse manipulated the timekeeper and Miz used the distraction to retain the title, which will stay on SmackDown rather than move to the RAW brand.
Survivor Series 2016 results: The Miz steals another cheap win to retain Intercontinental Championship
The Miz’s Intercontinental title reign continues.

The two started with some slow-paced action before spilling to the outside. Sami did a high-risk dive off the barricade, but Miz took over and started working his leg back in the ring. Nearly every time Sami started a comeback, Miz cut him off and continued to work his leg, all while taunting Daniel Bryan (with whom he’s been in a war of words for months) with his signature “Yes” chant.
Zayn finally got some momentum back with a huge dive onto Miz on the outside. Sami got a nearfall with a Michinoku Driver. Miz got the upper hand once again and kept stealing Bryan’s move set with the running dropkicks into the corner. Sami caught Miz in the middle of a jump and nailed the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two-count.
Sami set up for the Helluva Kick, but his injured leg gave out and he couldn’t get the move. Miz almost caught him with Skull Crushing Finale, which Sami reversed into a schoolboy counter for two. He tried going for the Helluva Kick again, but Miz dodged and locked in the Figure Four, which Sami eventually escaped by rolling over into the ropes.
Miz mocked Bryan some more with the Yes Kicks to a kneeling Sami. Zayn recovered and got in a Figure Four of his own. However, Maryse rang the bell prematurely, distracting the referee long enough for Miz to roll up Zayn and steal the pin.
