Here is all you need to know about Sami Zayn, who is now officially a member of the RAW roster thanks to Tuesday’s WWE brand split draft.

Sami Zayn is the underdog of WWE
People love an underdog, but no one loves it more than professional wrestling. Whether it’s Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat fighting that rich playboy Ric Flair, Stone Cold trying to beat the daylights out of his megalomaniacal boss, or Daniel Bryan trying to beat Triple H and his stable of genetically perfect supermen, it is wrestling’s most tried and true story.
Now it’s time to meeting wrestling’s next great underdog, Sami Zayn. Born to Syrian parents in Montreal, Zayn has never wrestled for anyone other than WWE, though he trained for over a decade with his good friend and independent wrestling mainstay El Generico.
Zayn has already led a promotion to success
Zayn works perhaps the most diverse style of anyone in the company, mixing high-flying work with mat wrestling with brawling. He was the star who anchored NXT during its rise to prominence, despite virtually never having the title. His quest for the belt, which took more than a year, made WWE’s developmental promotion can’t miss TV.
Now he has joined the main roster, carrying on this blood feud with fellow French Canadian Kevin Owens from NXT. While the matches between these two have a special chemistry, it also shows you the best that Zayn has to offer. He has a unique ability to highlight the strengths of any opponent, making them look like a million bucks. At the same time, Zayn’s ability to sell the peril his opponents have put him in makes him one of the most likable stars in the entire company.
If you want to get in on the ground floor of wrestling’s next great underdog story, then now is the time to get on board for Sami Zayn.
