WWE Draft 2016: Pick-by-pick results for brand split

WWE’s draft goes down on July 19, so see how it’s changing the course of the company one pick at a time.

WWE.com

WWE is splitting their two main shows, RAW and SmackDown, into separate brands. They’ll have their own rosters, writers, stories, authority figures, announce teams, and maybe even pay-per-views. The first step toward accomplishing that goal comes in the form of a draft, where WWE’s roster will be divided between the two shows, and with some new wrinkles and wrestlers around, too.

Because RAW is a three-hour show and SmackDown is two hours long, RAW will get additional picks: for every two picks by SmackDown, RAW will get three. RAW might also focus a bit more on some lighter, smaller wrestlers, at least to a degree, as they reintroduced the Cruiserweight Division exclusive to their show as well. RAW will also select first.

We’ll have pick-by-pick results of the WWE brand split draft for you here as they happen, and we’ll also include links to more detailed draft reports of many of the wrestlers selected in Tuesday’s draft. The draft airs at 8 pm ET on USA Network, but there is also a pre-show and simultaneous WWE Network show to follow along with. That, plus the rules and some more background on the draft itself, can be found here.

The first 30 picks will be made on SmackDown starting at 8 pm ET. The final selections will be made on WWE Network exclusive draft show -- we’ll update the tracker for all of them.
