SummerSlam 2016 results: Charlotte regains Women’s Title with shocking win over Sasha Banks

This feud appears to be far from over.

After a brutal, hard-hitting rematch, Charlotte used a flash pinfall to score a shocking win over Sasha Banks, winning back the WWE Women’s Championship she lost just a month ago.

Sasha was defending the belt for the first time since unexpectedly winning it on an episode of RAW. The rematch started with Banks hitting an early Bank Statement, although Charlotte got out of it in a hurry.

There was a scary moment in the match where Charlotte held Sasha up while standing on the ropes but appeared to drop her. Sasha ate it on the way down and appeared to hurt her back, with the referee frequently checking on her in the following minutes. Charlotte took advantage of the miscue to work the back and score some nearfalls.

Sasha fought her way back into the match, countering a Razor’s Edge setup on the top rope into a hurricanrana. She countered Charlotte’s moves into nearfalls of her own and even gave Charlotte a receipt by throwing double knees into her back on the second rope.

Sasha managed to counter Natural Selection into another Bank Statement, but Charlotte managed to escape it once again. Charlotte hit some more knees and hit Natural Selection, leading to another two-count. Sasha got yet another Bank Statement locked in, but Charlotte leaned into Sasha’s bad back, forcing her shoulders onto the mat and getting the three count.
