One year ago at SummerSlam, Jon Stewart changed the course of a huge match, hitting John Cena with a chair to allow Seth Rollins to beat him in a title-for-title match. Tonight he's hoping to do so again, joining Tag Team Champions the New Day in their quest to defend their titles against the bulldozing force of The Club.
Jon Stewart joins The New Day for SummerSlam against The Club
Thankfully The Club didn’t take a sample from him for their study to cure Ringpostitis.

First, though, Stewart had to talk about Cena’s epic match against AJ Styles that Cena lost right before he came out, saying that he was “just happy that some idiot didn’t interfere by hitting one of those two great competitors with a chair” in a tongue-in-cheek reference to what he’d done. As for Cena’s revenge the next night, Stewart said that he “learned my lesson. Here’s what I learned: if you’re ever going to get hit with an AA, tuck your shirt in because kids don’t need to see old man belly.”
Truer words have never been spoken.
That’s when he made the big reveal that he was joining New Day for the match, donning their signature t-shirt and light-up unicorn horn to help replace the missing Big E, who Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows took out several weeks ago by ramming his, ah, tender bits into a ring post. The Club were not amused, coming out with an implied threat that Stewart would be subject to the same punishment.

Stewart would try to save his new teammates by distracting Anderson and Gallows, but nearly caught himself a case of “ringpostitis” himself -- only to be saved by a surprise return by Big E.
Something tells me that Jon Stewart was happy to no longer be needed by the New Day after that. But hey, he tucked his shirt in this time.
