The Club (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) failed to win the WWE tag team titles thanks to a combination of interference from Jon Stewart and Big E. Through disqualification, The New Day’s title reign continues.
SummerSlam 2016 results: Jon Stewart, Big E help The New Day keep tag titles
The New Day lost the match, but they stood tall at the end anyway.

The New Day got a special intro by way of Stewart, making his triumphant babyface turn after costing John Cena a match at last year’s SummerSlam. Then The Club came out and are apparently doctors now. It’s all weird.
The actual match started as your standard tag team affair. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods held their own against Anderson and Gallows, who ganged up on Kingston for a while. Woods tagged in and did some things against Anderson, hitting him with an impressive flying elbow off the ropes that looked a lot like Marshawn Lynch.
The Club took over once again, knocking Woods out of the ring and double teaming Kingston. They hit the Magic Killer on Kingston and were ready to make the pinfall, but Stewart jumped into the ring. After some back-and-forth arguing, The Club dragged Stewart into the middle of the ring and threw him into the post crotch-first.
BUT! Big E made his triumphant return, running wild on Gallows and Anderson. This caused The New Day to get disqualified and technically lose the match, but at least all three members are back together.
