Dolph Ziggler brought some fire to his World Championship match at SummerSlam, but it wasn’t enough to beat Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe extended his title reign with a win over Ziggler.

Ziggler’s best wasn’t good enough to win the belt off Ambrose.


The match started fast and furious, with both men eager to prove themselves. Ziggler seemingly got the advantage when he dropped Ambrose to the floor, but Ambrose returned the favor in kind. Ambrose nailed a big suplex off the turnbuckle for an early near fall.
Ziggler turned the tables on Ambrose when he turned Dean’s elbow drop attempt into a dropkick. Ambrose recovered and hit a facebuster on Ziggler for another near fall. Ambrose then mocked Ziggler, stealing his grand posture setting up Dolph’s superkick, but Ziggler shrugged it off and hit a DDT for a two-count.
Ziggler tried a Fameasser but was nearly rolled up before he sent Ambrose shoulder-first into the post, setting him up to hit the Fameasser for two. Ambrose took the upper hand again with a series of chops, strikes and clotheslines, punctuated by an elbow drop off the turnbuckle that was another two-count.
Ziggler jumped on Ambrose’s shoulders and tried a sleeper hold, but Ambrose broke it by tumbling out of the ring, After a Ziggler superkick on the outside, he rolled Ambrose back in the ring and broke the count before getting a two-count. Ambrose went for Dirty Deeds but Ziggler pushed him off and hit a Zig Zag for another near fall.
After dodging another sleeper hold and superkick attempt by Ziggler, Ambrose hit the rebound clothesline. He climbed the ropes, fought off several Ziggler counter tries and came off the top to hit Dirty Deeds, finishing off The Show Off.
