The WWE World Heavyweight Championship went to SmackDown Live with Dean Ambrose, so Raw needed a heavyweight title of its own. Enter the WWE Universal Championship, newly minted and revealed at SummerSlam 2016 before Seth Rollins and Finn Balor go head to head to decide who is the first Universal Champion.

It is a very red championship belt, done up in the same style as the current World Heavyweight Championship and Women’s Championship belts, but with red leather to match the Raw branding and colors instead of the black and white leather those titles use.
Now it’s time to see who will win the right to wear it for the first time: former multi-time Heavyweight Champion Rollins or hot new rising star Balor. This is going to be special.
