Despite the United States Championship match taking place second-to-last on the SummerSlam, Roman Reigns decided to have a big ol’ brawl instead of getting an official match. Reigns ultimately laid out Rusev and the match was declared a no-contest, meaning Rusev still retains the U.S. title.
SummerSlam 2016 results: Rusev, Roman Reigns brawl to no-contest
A massive brawl outside the ring leads to the U.S. Title match being canceled.

Rusev didn’t wait for the match to start, dragging Reigns outside to take the fight to the floor, throwing Reigns into the stairs left and right. A long, intense brawl ensued between the two, with them throwing each other around and through barricades.
By the time officials tried to separate the men, Reigns brought out a chair and started bashing Rusev with it. He continued ignoring referees’ pleas to walk away and kept laying in shots on Rusev. Finally, officials escorted Reigns to the back and Rusev was attended to by doctors. The match was officially thrown out.
Reigns wasn’t done, though, sprinting back down the ramp to spear Rusev into the ring apron.
