The Royal Rumble is the official start of what WWE calls the “Road to WrestleMania.” The winner of the Royal Rumble match itself can choose to challenge for either the WWE World Championship or the WWE Universal Championship, the former exclusive to SmackDown and the latter to RAW.
Royal Rumble 2017 live stream: How to watch online
We’ll find out who headlines WrestleMania thanks to the Royal Rumble match.

The Rumble is one of WWE’s “Big Four” events, and will begin at a special start time of 7 p.m. ET. The pre-show kicks off even earlier, at 5 p.m. ET on the WWE Network, and will include multiple matches not on the main card.
While a subscription is required for the WWE Network — $9.99 per month — WWE is giving away a free month to new subscribers. That will get you the Rumble and the SmackDown-exclusive pay-per-view Elimination Chamber at zero cost, whereas if you ordered the events individually through pay-per-view, these two would cost you the same as an entire year of the Network. Hey, it’s your money.
The WWE Network can be streamed on a number of devices, including your phone, tablet, laptop, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Roku, and Apple TV. These are not the only ones, either: Here’s the full list of supported devices.
