Nia Jax and Sasha Banks finally faced off in the middle of the ring after weeks of confrontations, and it ended in a way that you would probably expect: with Sasha eating a huge Samoa Drop from Nia.
Nia Jax dominates Sasha Banks in Royal Rumble pre-show
The result was only surprising for how completely dominant it was.

Sasha did her best to find any advantage she could despite being so much smaller than Nia and dealing with a still-injured left knee, but there just wasn’t much she could do to level the playing field. Even when she managed to hit Nia with the Bank Statement, the Samoan bruiser simply powered out of it because Sasha couldn’t get the leverage she needed to lock the submission move in all the way.
In the end, Nia was just too powerful for Sasha to overcome. The end was inevitable, and even when Sasha got her down on the mat with a bench press off the top rope, Nia was still able to get up relatively quickly to hit that Samoa Drop for the win.
Sasha will recover from this eventually — she’s too good not to — but this is a huge statement win for Nia, one that could see her enter the Raw women’s championship scene sooner rather than later. That’s something we’ve been waiting to see ever since she was drafted to Raw in the brand split, and now it looks like we’re just about to see those hopes come to fruition.
