The Lana-Naomi match went well for both wrestlers, but Naomi came out victorious. Early on, Lana shocked the WWE Universe with her surprising wrestling skill set.
2017 WWE Money in the Bank results: Naomi makes Lana tap to retain Women’s title
Lana attacked Naomi’s knee early on, but Naomi found a way to retain her title.
Lana was aggressive throughout the match, keying in on Naomi’s knee by bending it on the ropes after Naomi’s leg hit the ropes during a suplex.
Naomi performed some great moves in this matchup as well, hitting Lana with a swift kick to the head, which stunned her.
Moments later, James Ellsworth and Carmella — who won the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank match — trotted to the ring. Many thought Carmella was going to cash in her briefcase, but she decided not to.
Lana, who was in complete control of the matchup at the time, tried to hit Naomi with her finishing move, but Naomi countered it, and Lana tapped out while in the Slay-O-mission.
Even though Naomi won, she still has to watch out for Carmella. In the past, we’ve seen superstars who won the Money in the Bank strike at surprising moments. For now, though, Naomi can say she walked out of Money in the Bank as the Women’s champion.
