Jinder Mahal is still the WWE Champion.
WWE Money in the Bank 2017 results: Jinder Mahal retains the WWE World Championship
With the help of the The Singh Brothers, Mahal will walk out of St. Louis as the WWE Champion.
Mahal and Randy Orton traded blows early, especially Orton, who tried to go for the RKO early in the matchup. Mahal dodged the maneuver, but The Viper continued to keep the pressure on Mahal.
Later on, Orton tried to hit the self-proclaimed Modern Day Maharaja with a DDT, but The Singh Brothers distracted Orton, leading to Mahal knocking the 13-time world champion to the floor. However, Orton tweaked his knee, and Mahal keyed in on it. Mahal tried to inflict more pain on Orton’s knee by slamming it on the announcer table. Orton’s left knee gave him major problems through the matchup.
Mahal looked confident in the championship match, even mocking Orton. Since Ric Flair, Orton’s former Evolution member, was sitting at ringside, Mahal applied the figure four leg lock on The Viper.
Later, Mahal tried to mock Orton again by attempting to suplex him off the top turnbuckle. Instead, Orton paid homage to his father, Cowboy Bob Orton, by performing the suplex. Cowboy Bob Orton was in attendance.
The Viper continued to attack Mahal, hitting him with the DDT and an RKO. When Orton went for the pin, The Singh Brothers placed Mahal’s foot on the rope. The referee saw it and decided to throw The Singh Brothers out.
As they were leaving, they stopped and looked at Orton’s father, looking to get physical with him.
The Viper noticed it and immediately went after The Singh Brothers. In fact, he slammed one of the brothers on the table and RKO’d the other through a table.
Orton got back into the ring and tried to hit Mahal with another RKO. Instead, Mahal kicked The Viper on the bad knee and hit him with the Khallas to pick up the victory. Indeed, Mahal won the match and should celebrate, but Orton and the winner of the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match will come after him.
