Big Cass and the Big Show had been headed straight for a major collision at SummerSlam 2017, and their match on Sunday was exactly that. With Cass’s former tag team partner suspended over the ring and forced to watch, the young big man steadily worked over the veteran giant until Enzo tried and failed to make an impact on the match himself.
SummerSlam 2017 results: Enzo Amore and Big Show can’t slip away from Big Cass
It was a dominant display for Big Cass.
Big Show came into the match with a hurt right hand thanks to Big Cass, and Cass attacked it over and over and over again, hitting it, kicking it, and working it over with targeted submissions. Show definitely got his shots in, making Cass respect his offense even if he wasn’t at 100 percent, but eventually things looked so dire for Big Show that Enzo had to utilize some, shall we say, creative methods to get out of the cage.
Amore would eventually slide his way out of the cage, but immediately ate a big boot from Big Cass when he landed in the ring. Big Show tried to bail him out, but ate a pair of boots himself, and one Empire Elbow later it was all over.
Big Cass is setting himself up for a bright future in the WWE, and he’s going to have his sights set on one of Raw’s titles sooner rather than later. The question now is which one — and what lengths will he go to in order to win his prize?
