LiveBlog: ‘Skins-‘Hawks, fourth quarter

Vinnie Iyer breaks down the ongoing action of the Redskins-Seahawks first-round NFC playoff game:
Jordan rules: The Seahawks’ defense deserved to put the finishing touches on this one after it did so well at shutting down the Redskins for most of the game. Marcus Trufant’s pick six was the icing, and safety Jordan Babineaux provides a cherry, with another uncontested interception return for another TD. You can say the ‘Hawks have some much-needed extra mo’ for their upcoming trip to Lambeau. Seattle 35, Washington 14 is your final, but it was a lot closer than the score.
Pick (deep) six: Washington’s mo’ didn’t last long. Mistakes by both Santana Moss (on giving up on his route) and Todd Collins (in actually throwing the ball) lead to the easiest interception return (78 yards) for a touchdown Seahawks Pro Bowl-bound cornerback Marcus Trufant will ever get. It’s good thing the Redskins have found something in the passing game, because they will need to drop back the rest of the game now. Seattle 28, Washington 14.
Hass is hot again: I don’t think there is a streakier passer in the NFL. When Matt Hasselbeck is on, he is one of the game’s elite. He looks awesome in a five-play two-minute drive to put Seattle back on top. This time, it’s a laser down the middle to D.J. Hackett, followed by a bullet to Marcus Pollard for the two-point conversion. I guess we see why Mike Holmgren trusts Hass with anything. Seattle 21, Washington 14.

Hass keeps passing: It’s only a one-point game, but Seattle continues to trust Matt Hasselbeck to move the ball downfield. It works, until it results in a bad decision at the Redskins’ 36 -- throwing his a second interception in the direction of LaRon Landry. I have a feeling this game will end with either a Hass TD or a Hass pick.
A tale of two Suishams: A brilliant kickoff by Shaun Suisham puts the ball in position where only his teammate, Anthony Mix, can recover at the Seahawks’ 14. But then four plays later, Suisham shanks a 30-yard field-goal attempt. Seattle just got a gift; now it needs to avoid staying in a giving mood.
Get that man a drink: Maybe Todd Collins will get a cocktail named after him for another reason -- being the toast of the nation’s capital. Collins comes out firing after the pick of Hass, and finds Santana Moss streaking into the end zone. NBC sure was timely in flashing Collins’ perfect fourth-quarter passer rating right as the stanza started. Wow. Washington 14, Seattle 13.
Emotional rescue: The Seahawks decide to play ball control by passing, and it burns them, as Matt Hasselbeck gets intercepted by LaRon Landry, who’s become an inspired rookie playmaker after the loss of his safety mate and mentor, Sean Taylor. We have a game, and mighty mo’ is with Washington.
Randle El does it again: The last time the Seahawks saw Antwaan Randle El in a playoff game, he was throwing a TD pass to Hines Ward in Super Bowl 40. He’s been the MVP of the Redskins today, as he scores on his ninth reception (for 92 yards) to open the fourth quarter and make it a one-possession game. Now the Redskins’ defense needs a big play. Seattle 13, Washington 7.↵
