The Mo Show Will Go on in Cleveland

Mo Williams will help the Cavs. But he’ll also bring to town the NBA’s best-kept new media secrets, the kind of thing that, if the Wizards did it, would be a national internet treasure. As is, even some bloggers I asked hadn’t heard of this great canon of funniness. Luckily, in an interview with Cleveland Scene, we get the good news that Mo plans to keep his Show alive and kicking:↵↵⇥Ask any Bucks fan and they’ll revel in telling you about The Mo Williams Show, a cult-classic short-video segment the Bucks used to show during timeouts. Williams would film 60-second spots interviewing teammates and coaches, giving them short questions like “Beyonce or Halle Berry” or “Number Retired or Hall of Fame.”↵↵Williams has some big ideas on how to up the ante, too:↵↵⇥“During games, we’d be sitting there listening to coach, and it would come on, and you look up, and everybody is looking at the Jumbotron and coach is still talking,” says Williams. “And then coach stops talking and he’s looking up too. That’s when I knew it was a success. And then you look at the other huddle, and everybody over there is looking too.”↵↵Mo Williams: Where viral comedy meets video installation meets gamesmanship. Yeah, he’ll get along just fine with LeBron.↵
