Serbian Cops Don’t Make Enough Money

This video comes from a riot on December 2nd, 2007 between Belgrade Red Star fans and policemen, one of which, after having flares thrown at him until his clothes caught fire, decided to end the nonsense and fire off a few rounds in the air. Somewhere in there, according to the court case at least, 20 year-old Uros Misic attempts to shove a lit flare into the mouth of the policeman.↵

↵In Serbia, this gets you a 15-year sentence for attempted murder, which is a pretty good slap from the lawstick in European terms, where a murder charge gets you 30 years in a prison nicer than the apartment/hovel you live in now. ↵↵We doubt, however, that a Serbian prison is all that fun, since Serbs are all kinds of tough. We know that from playing Grand Theft Auto 4: Liberty City, where people from the former Yugoslav republics are all gun-toting mafiosi on the make with deadly aim and an innate street sense. Video games can’t be wrong. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go drive a motorcycle off a 70 story building without harming myself after robbing a bank successfully despite being surrounded by 300 heavily armed policemen. ↵
