Florida Tries to Bury Georgia Early

↵The early slate of Saturday games had a bit of a wild streak: Purdue vanquished Michigan with a brilliantly executed hook and lateral (and meaning the Wolverines will not be bowl-eligible), and Michigan State pulled off a comeback against Wisconsin with a last-second FG. But the games getting all the attention started at 3:30PM EST, with Florida and Georgia starting up the on-field sideshow to the World’s Biggest Cocktail Party.

↵Spencer Hall sends along this themed decor, a graveyard featuring a left-for-dead Volunteers shirt and a plush Uga in a coffin. The sentiment is well-taken, and the Gators did shovel a bit of dirt on the real-life Dogs in the first half. Florida got strong work from Percy Harvin, who totaled more than 60 yards on just four touches.
↵
↵The real difference is a pair of second quarter red zone drives. Florida went four down inside the Georgia 10, eventually slipping Tim Tebow into paydirt on a keeper. On the next drive, Georgia drove to the Florida six, where the Dogs faced 1st and goal, trailing 14-3. Matthew Stafford threw two incompletions, Knowshon Moreno lost four yards on a carry, and Georgia kicker Blair Walsh missed his second FG of the day. That score -- 14-3 -- stands at the half.
↵
↵UPDATE: Burial nearly complete: Florida leads 35-3 in the fourth.↵
