A Big Game on the Eve of a Bigger Election

Tonight, the Skins host the Steelers in what is a huge game for both teams. The Skins are trying to keep pace with the Giants in the best division in football, while Pittsburgh is looking to take a one game lead on the Ravens in the AFC North’s two horse race. Both are trying to prove they’re the stuff of champions.
↵↵But no matter the outcome, or your rooting interests (yes, I’m a Skins fan so I may be slightly sluggish tomorrow morning), the game is being played in D.C. against the backdrop of a rather important election tomorrow. It’s no coincidence ESPN picked this game for Monday Night Football. ↵

↵↵For most of us, we’ll be watching the game as a nice distraction from the presidential race that has been omnipresent the past few months and is poised to consume us tomorrow night. But alas, we will not be able to totally avoid the election during tonight’s intersection of football and politics in the nation’s capital. Some of you will hate this, others will be merely annoyed by it, and maybe one or two of you will enjoy ESPN touching on the election this evening. But no matter, they will be discussing it and the MNF crew explained why (along with some other topics) to the D.C. Sports Bog’s Dan Steinberg:↵

↵Enjoy the football, try your best to stomach the political talk, and allow me to selfishly add: Hail to the Redskins.↵
