USC’s Fashion More Important Than Timeouts

If USC wins its 4:00 showdown this Saturday against crosstown rival UCLA, they’ll be headed to the Rose Bowl as Pac-10 champs. So it goes without saying that it’s an incredibly important game for the Trojans, but also one they should win handily. The early line has USC favored by 32(!) points, so, feeling extremely confident as always, Pete Carroll has decided that allowing his players to wear their home red uniforms on the road is more important than having all of his timeouts:↵↵⇥Carroll said on Monday that the Trojans would wear their cardinal red home jerseys on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. That violates an NCAA rule that requires visiting teams to wear white, and the infraction will cost him two timeouts, one per half. ...↵⇥↵⇥As for losing time outs? “I don’t care about it right now,” Carroll said. “I think it’s the fun thing to do, and I think the fans will appreciate it over time.”↵⇥

↵↵Yeah, the fans will love it, so long as that lack of a timeout doesn’t cost the Trojans the game in the final seconds. If that happens it will mark the most any single group of people has suffered for fashion since the

Project Runway

cast had to wear those ghastly garbage man outfits in season 3. Ugh, just ‘cause you deal with trash all day doesn’t mean you also need to throw away your fashion aesthetic.↵
