Odom Reminds Us About the Name of the Game

It’s been a complicated season for Lamar Odom, who in a contract year decided to accept a virtual demotion, agreeing to come off the bench and provide a spark from there. But he’s not even consistently doing that. And yet, the ever-enigmatic Odom refuses to see this as a setback, either for himself or the team, and continues to speak truth.↵

But after taking just three shots in 29 minutes in Sunday’s win over the Raptors, Odom said that was less about playing time and more about the way the Lakers have been sharing the ball this season.↵⇥

There aren’t too many guys that can do it, I just happen to be one of them.”↵↵You heard it here, folks. “The game is called basketball, not shoot.” If that’s not the non-Marbury quote of the NBA season, I don’t know what is. And Steph now probably spends a lot of his day concocting crazy stuff to tell the media, so those don’t even count. I know Odom’s not getting starter minutes anymore, but at least he has to pay some attention to the game, night in and night out.↵
