The NCAA Men’s Tournament will be headquartered in the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, a sparkling new facility (it even glows!) ideal for the event save one detail: It’s not finished, and may not be finished in time for the one thousand guests scheduled to check in for the Final Four.

Grand Hyatt one year ago. Anything that close to a Denny’s is alright with me.
The Grand Hyatt is set to open March 19 — eight or nine days before tournament organizers begin arriving.
Adding to the tension: The NCAA has no backup plan if the Grand Hyatt can’t open. Adding more: San Antonio is bidding to become a host for future Final Fours.
Nothing like being properly prepared. Officials say there are plenty of hotel rooms available as a backup. What they are likely not mentioning is that they are in Dallas, Houston, and various Mexican towns across the border.
