Super Bowl 60 kicks off just after 6:30 p.m. ET with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots facing off for the Lombardi Trophy. It marks the first time in four years we haven’t had the Chiefs playing in the Super Bowl, so it offers up some new and interesting storylines. Notably, Drake Maye and Sam Darnold both make their respective Super Bowl debuts at Levi’s Stadium.

The game was preceded by Charlie Puth singing the Star-Spangled Banner and then the team captains for the Seahawks and Patriots meeting at the 50-yard line for the pre-game coin toss. The Seahawks were designated the visiting team, so they got the chance to call heads or tails on the opening toss. They picked TAILS and LOST the coin toss. The Patriots elected to defer receiving ball to the second half, and so they will kick off. That means New England will receive the kickoff to start the second half.

The past three Super Bowls, the Chiefs won the coin toss. The first two years they went on to win the Super Bowl, but last year they lost the big game. They were the visiting team the first and third years, and thus made the call each of those years.

The coin toss prop bet is always a popular one, and ahead of the game, FanDuel Sportsbook offered equal odds for the coin toss results with heads and tails both installed at -104. The Seahawks and Patriots also had equal odds of winning the coin at -104. The odds to win the coin toss and also win the game were installed at -110 for both teams.
