FirstCuts: Cheer Your Team, Obama Simultaneously

There are two things you never, ever want to discuss with strangers: Politics and religion (unless you’re drunk, in which case those are somehow the only two things people talk about. Well, besides how much they love each other). So, I’m not going to give away my political leanings, but I will say that if you’re an Obama man (or woman), then these shirts are pretty righteous:

A site called Obama of Dreams has created this gold mine, which combines throwback baseball tees with the Democratic Party’s next great hope. Teams available so far are Red Sox, Phillies, Dodgers and Mets. But don’t you fret, your team’s shirt is likely coming soon. As of March 15, shirts for the White Sox, Cubs, Padres, Giants, A’s, Pirates, Astros and Orioles will be out. Also, each shirt has the number “08” on the back, thus making the O’s one the coolest of them all (Cal Ripken, anyone?).
Even better news: They’re only $19.99 each. Not bad considering how damn hip you’re gonna look at the ballpark/ballot booth over the coming months.
