We’ve all been there: You say something so incredibly stupid that you instantly wish you could take it back. But, of course, it’s past the point of no return. For example, I jokingly called a female friend of mine a “cougar” recently. I meant it as a compliment. Clearly, I’m an idiot. It was a horrible error in judgment.
But at least it wasn’t racist. Or on television:

Yes, Racially Insensitive Marathon Analyst, all the Kenyans and Ethiopians were just sitting back, snickering while the slow white boy wasted up all his slow white boy energy. Then, they attacked!
(In case you were curious, Kenyans took first, second, fourth and fifth place in the marathon.)
