Schedules Released; Pats First Month Is Rough

This is how much America loves football: ESPN is doing a two hour(!) schedule release special right now (quick, get to a TV!), followed by a 30-minute NFL Live, during which they’ll probably talk about, well, the schedules. Thrilling stuff, no doubt. ↵↵If two and a half hours of talking head torture isn’t your thing, you can just go to NFL.com and check out all the schedules yourself. I’m quite confident you can figure out on your own which games are good/bad without ESPN telling you so. ↵
↵↵The first thing that jumped out at me is the brutal (see also: incredibly easy) first five weeks of the Patriots season:↵
- ↵↵⇥↵⇥Chiefs at home
- ↵⇥At the Jets
- ↵⇥Dolphins at home
- ↵⇥Bye week
- ↵⇥At the 49ers↵⇥
↵↵↵So, prepare yourselves for more “can they go 19-0?!” talk at least until Week 6 when they go to San Diego. ↵
↵↵As for the first week of action, it seems rather lame. The Giants host the Skins on Thursday, September 4th to kick off the season (but we already knew about that) in what should be a good NFC East game. Other than that, however, there isn’t much to get excited about. You know, other than the fact that it’s the first Sunday of football, which is one of the greatest days of the year, regardless of who’s playing.↵
