Background info: Jimmy Rollins was awarded with some hardware for being the best player in the National League last season. He is currently on the 15-day DL. ↵↵Armed with that goes-without-saying info, watch as Chris Berman asks the dumbest question I have ever heard. And that is not an exaggeration:↵
In Which Berman Proves That There Aren’t Stupid Questions, Only Stupid People
↵
↵↵Are the Phillies a “different” club without Rollins? Really? You don’t know the answer to that brain buster? Let’s see here: Are the Patriots a “different” team without Tom Brady? Is “The Office” a “different” show without Michael Scott? Is a hamburger a “different” sandwich without the beef? Is anything in the history of things different without the key element that makes it whatever it is?↵
↵↵Actually, that last question could still be valid even if you removed “key.” In other words, even if Berman wasn’t asking about the MVP, it’s still a ridiculous question. If a team loses any player, regardless of their on-field impact, it is now a “different” club.↵
↵↵What’s possibly more pathetic here is that it was a planned question. Joe Morgan knew it was coming and had his response ready. Really though, a simple “yes” would’ve completely and totally satisfied Berman’s question.↵
