BSTFWNHO: Last Night in NBA Playoffs

Every weekday, Shoals recounts playoff action in terms of the seven categories that govern the universe.↵
↵↵Big: Kobe Bryant's 49 points and 10 assists, both just shy of his playoff highs. The 50 came in a 2006 loss to Phoenix that bummed Bryant out and made him think hard about his role on the team. You know what happened in the next game. Hopefully, the historical irony of tonight's line is not lost on anyone.↵
↵
↵↵Small: For the Sixers in this series, there's no such thing as a high-percentage shot.↵
↵
↵↵True: This Lakers win made a hell of a lot more sense than the last one, and also wasn't near as lopsided. These games will continue to be worth watching, even if Denver gets swept. Also truth: A Kobe/J.R. Smith rivalry.↵
↵
↵↵False: Philly's upset in game one was a total joke: Just playing hard and sloppy against a complacent giant. It won't happen again and as we saw tonight, isn't even a style that necessarily lends itself to any kind of success. It's treading water, nothing more and nothing less.↵
↵
↵↵Wide: Boston and Detroit will coast into the next round. But L.A. and NOLA, the West's top seeds, are in the exact same position. So much for that theory.↵
↵
↵↵Narrow: I know the Celtics are perfect and all, but they really need to hire a new fireworks supervisor. It looks like a tear gas attack in there through at least the first quarter. Unless it's supposed to go with the WWE-esque aspect of Garnett's image. (Ed. Note: Observe the gaseous state of the arena behind Garnett above.)
↵
↵
↵↵Obama/Hillary: This was mathematical logic re-asserting itself in the East, which (fingers crossed) will happen one day soon in this race.↵
