Even the Beer Man’s Blunders Are T-Mac’s Fault

If you’re like me, you look upon Tracy McGrady as a hard luck friend and tire of the heartless “he’s a soft batch loser” criticism. Sometimes, just thinking about his playoff misfortunes are enough to ruin your week.↵

↵Which is why it’s refreshing, and a relief, to see McGrady making light of his dire predicament. From The Houston Chronicle:↵↵⇥“It’s my fault,” McGrady said. “It’s my fault we missed free throws. It’s my fault we lost both games. Blame me. It’s my fault we fouled to tie the game up. That’s my fault. It’s my fault they get easy layups. It’s my fault we’re not executing well on the offensive end. It’s my fault a couple people in the stands ordered Heinekens and they got Budweiser. It’s my fault. I’m sorry.”↵↵Oh, and there’s more:↵↵⇥“Everybody’s blaming me. The Suns (for being down 2-0 to the Spurs). I mean, everybody. That’s what it seems like. It’s my fault. I’m out there by myself.”↵↵First off, this is funny as hell. But the point he’s making—which he goes on to explain more solemnly—is that he can do no right at this point. If he’s aggressive, he’s not getting others involved; if he passes a lot, he’s passive. The loss always comes back to him; that’s how he wanted it, but that monster’s gotten out of control. This applies to the big picture, too. If he loses, he sucks. If he wins, he should’ve a long time ago.↵
