BSTFWNHO: Last Night in NBA Playoffs

Every weekday, Shoals recounts playoff action in terms of the seven categories that govern the universe.↵

↵↵Big: I generally think of Tony Parker as an overrated water-bug who gets to the rim well. Last night, he was up there with Chris Paul, greatest point guard in the stratosphere. Terrific all-around game for Parker. Manu wasn't far behind, and David West wasn't far behind him. Ironically, it was those upstart Hornets whose oozed skill, while the Spurs were type feral.↵

↵

↵↵Small: Hey Cleveland, something is terribly wrong. LeBron is amazing. If you can't do anything to get anyone on the Celtics turning away from him, you're effed. What a waste. P.S. Anyone remember my Mike Brown prediction?↵

↵

↵↵True: David West could be the next Tim Duncan. He is just perfect when they put the game in his hands.↵

↵

↵↵False: That was the Spurs as we know them, hanging in there until it really mattered and then pulling ahead. But there was almost no Duncan. And that backcourt was more in NOLA's stylistic camp than the rest of their own team's. In some ways, it was typical, but this year that team is banking on speed and dazzling. Ironic, seeing as they've been its foil for years.↵

↵

↵↵Wide: What about this scenario: Boston plays nothing but inferior, cupcake teams until the Finals, where they are sandblasted by a battle-hardened Hornets, Lakers, or Spurs team.↵

↵

↵↵Narrow: Does anyone else find Chris Paul's flops as ill as I do? It's like he only does them to players with a history of that. And the look on Parker, or Bowen, or Manu's face when he does it is positively priceless.↵

↵

↵↵Obama/Hillary: It should be no secret that I think Chris Paul could be the NBA's Obama, and vice-versa. So this was a setback. You can't stop destiny. ↵
