FirstCuts: Inside The NFL Goes To Showtime

Briefly left for dead after HBO and the show parted ways, Inside the NFL was snatched up like a hot free agent, landing with Showtime.↵↵The deal, announced late Tuesday, has the show premiering on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 9 p.m. ET and will air each Wednesday through Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009.↵

↵↵Although no broadcast team was officially announced on Tuesday, Pro Football Talk/SN’s Mike Florio suggests that, according to a media source, the show will be “staffed primarily with current CBS talent, with Jim Nantz playing the role of Bob Costas, Dan Marino playing the role of, um, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason or Phil Simms filling the role of Cris Collinsworth, and Charley Casserly serving in the Peter King role.”↵

↵↵The real question: Where do Nancy Botwin and Dexter Morgan fit into this weekly show?↵
