These words and the subsequent video cannot fully describe the scene at Yankeee Stadium last night during the Derby. Specifically, during Josh Hamiton’s incredible 28-home-run first round. Nothing before or after that really mattered -- that round was the highlight of the night, and quite possibly of the week.
↵
↵Our media seating is in the second tier in right field, below the “short porch,” so we had a prefect view of the bleachers. And much to our surprise, the typical “Bleacher Bums” were out in full force. Here’s a sample of them going crazy for Josh (mild language warning):↵

Other chants overheard from the bleachers aside from the “a--hole,” “ham-il-ton,” “we want 30” and “holy s---”: “Joe Morgan sucks,” “FOX, FOX, FOX,” “Boston sucks,” “We want Jason” (as Longoria was struggling), and “She’s a tease” at a female cop. This, of course, was after they had just chanted “get her number” to the male cop standing next to her.
↵
↵Even after being there to see and hear all this, the biggest advantage of being at the Derby in person remains this: You don’t have to hear Chris Berman.
