Mike Alessi is a champion of professional motocross racing who, unfortunately, does not have titanium bones. Most riders don’t, actually, though we can’t confirm that because motocross riders seem to be constantly riding around with broken collarbones, compound fractures, and open head wounds, for all we know. (They wear helmets, but I bet there are a few out there.)↵

↵Alessi broke both shoulder blades, a rib, and bruised his lung in a wreck at Redbud Motocross Track in Michigan this weekend. That sounds bad. Then, of course, you watch the video where he’s run over by two motorcycles coming off a ski jump, and you realize he’s lucky not to be in a coma.↵

↵Even hockey players wince at the random dangers of motocross. Alessi is recovering, and will race tomorrow. I made that up, but if it happens do not be surprised, because this is motocross.↵
