Steelers Preseason Game Leads to Homicide

↵Via FanHouse, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette publishes the unfortunate lesson of what happens when you ↵borrow your 83-year-old dad’s car to take the kids to a ↵Steelers preseason game, only to leave the kids at the game ↵alone.
↵
↵The 83-year-old, John Latimer, got a call from the girls, who were upset at being ditched at the stadium. ↵The son, Roy Wright, returned home, and an argument broke ↵out. Then this happened:↵↵⇥Mr. Latimer told police he retrieved a .32 ↵⇥caliber revolver from his upstairs bedroom and returned ↵⇥downstairs. Mr. Wright began walking upstairs but turned ↵⇥around and headed for Mr. Latimer, threatening to kill ↵⇥everybody, according to the affidavit. Mr. Latimer told ↵⇥police he shot Mr. Wright once after the victim said, “You ↵⇥better shoot me or I’m gonna kill you.”↵↵Threat heeded, I guess, because Latimer shot Penn dead. One ↵more point in favor of the abolition of exhibition ↵football, I suppose.↵
