Ben Curtis Plays to Home Crowd, Curses Self

↵That’s Ben Curtis over on the right, the 2003 British Open champ and the leader of this weekend’s PGA Championship after three rounds. Rain in Oakland Hills stopped play on Saturday. The bigger impact: it slowed the snot out of the course, allowing the later groups to have a much easier third round on Sunday morning.
↵
↵Curtis obviously benefitted, going 2-under for the round. J.B. Holmes and Hendrik Stenson are a stroke back. The group will tee off for the last 18 holes at about 2:20 PM EST.
↵
↵Hopefully, Curtis’ll change his damn shirt first. I don’t care if you’re in a threesome with Barry Sanders and Henry Ford, you just don’t wear Detroit Lions gear in any sort of championship round. It has never worked for the Lions, and it’s not going to work for their fans. (Curtis’ relation to the Lions is unknown; he’s from Ohio. He couldn’t find an Ocho Cinco jersey laying around?)↵
