Deion Officially the First Media Member Who Doesn’t Want to Talk About Brett Favre

this morning to help promote the release of Madden ’09 (he also spoke with our own Matt Spiegel. He gets around.), and things got kinda weird. Deion, when asked about the Brett Favre saga, claimed that he wasn’t able to discuss anything having to do with No. 4, despite The Gunslinger being on the cover of the very game Deion was on the program to promote:↵

↵Strange, indeed. As PFT points out, why would the NFL Network -- Deion’s employer -- not allow him to discuss Favre on ESPN, a network which pays the NFL $1.1 billion annually? Or maybe, based on the brief Favre comments Deion actually did make at the very end of the clip, he was following the old “if you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say anything at all” rule.
