There Will Be No Protesting in China’s Designated Protest Zones

Old women can be so annoyingly persistent. Take these two old Chinese broads (pictured) who had the audacity to try and protest at the Beijing Olympics in one of the two areas officially designated for, well, protest:↵↵⇥The women, Wu Dianyuan, 79, and Wang Xiuying, 77, had made five visits to the police this month in an effort to get permission to protest what they contended was inadequate compensation for the demolition of their homes in Beijing.↵↵Five visits. You believe that crap? You’d think that after, like, three visits, they’d get the picture. Look, old ladies, China needed your houses so we could all celebrate the glory of Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt and the rise of Communist China as a major world power. And you know the old saying – if you want to make an omelet, you have to demolish a few old ladies’ houses. ↵↵Furthermore, as if this wasn’t self-evident from the get-go, the designated protest areas at the Beijing Olympics are not to be used under any circumstances for protests of any kind. Not for Tibet, not for human rights, and certainly not for your two stupid houses that nobody cares about anyway.↵

↵

↵In the end, China had no choice but to put these two nags in their place by sentencing them to “re-education” through a year of forced labor. That ought to shut ‘em up, and good riddance for that. Now can we get back to Usain Bolt already? Man he is fast ...↵
