The ‘Lucky Stars’ in Philly Are Quite Evil

No matter how much you may hate your team’s biggest rivals, you never wish harm upon them. (Okay, maybe some of the fans, but not the players.) You want your team’s best to beat their team’s best, straight up -- I think it has to do with sportsmanship, and having a touch of class. Neither of which seem to apply, however, to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Don McKee, who is thanking his “lucky stars” today for the injuries two Mets recently suffered:↵↵⇥Sometimes you just have to sit back and thank your lucky stars for all the good things that happen. ↵⇥↵⇥The Mets had quite a day in Houston yesterday: They announced that loquacious closer Billy Wagner has a strained left forearm and will have his second MRI exam in two weeks. They said quiet starter John Maine was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a mild strain in his right rotator cuff. Then the Mutts got swept by the last-place Astros. ↵⇥

↵↵“The Mutts”! HA! Oh man, that’s hilarious! See what he did there? Do you? He took “Mets” and made it “Mutts” because they both start with the letter “M,” but “Mutts” is much more derogatory! That’s rich, Don. You should be a blogger, or something, with wit like that. I’ll let you go though -- surely you’re exhausted today. You must’ve been up until, what, four or five in the morning thinking up that one? Go get some rest, buddy, you deserve it.
↵
↵Don McKee, ladies and gents, doing his best to squash the general consensus that Philly fans are classless.↵
