Ike Blows the Roof Off Texans’ Home

↵The Texans had already postponed their Week Two game against Baltimore to Monday night, meaning almost no one outside Houston or Baltimore would be able to see it on the teevee. Now, it looks like the game could be moved to a different town or different month.

↵Hurricane Ike is really messing with Houston’s sports teams (along with, you know, causing millions of dollars of damage and claiming at least a few lives already). The storm blew part of the roof off of Reliant Stadium, and Texans officials say it will not be usable (via Shutdown Corner). The NFL will decide whether to play the game Monday at a neutral site (meaning Houston loses a home game) or to fidget with the schedule to align byes and set up a Houston-Baltimore game in Week 10.

↵Houston doesn’t have another home game until October. But as we’ve said: Ike is still over H-town, and we have no idea how damning the destruction will be. And with folks still in danger -- and the whole city without power -- the health of a football stadium seems less important. It sucks for the Texans (and Astros), but it’s just sports.
