Monday: Christmas Morning for Lane Kiffin

↵Passionate San Jose Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami reports Al Davis is ready to fire rag doll head coach Lane Kiffin Monday morning, assuming the Raiders continue to demean the game of football in today’s match in Kansas City. It’s an ultimately predictable move from Satan Davis, who has reportedly wanted Kiffin gone since two minutes after he hired him.
↵
↵Kiffin should feel unending joy about this development. There is no better result for the kid than to escape the destructive, depressing Raider organization with some shred of dignity left. And he certainly hasn’t been perfect or even good -- the results of the past year indicate he’s not particularly “ready” to run a team. It has happened in a dark, dark vacuum, of course. But a few years as a coordinator would be an upgrade for everyone involved.
↵
↵If current defensive coordinator Rob Ryan doesn’t get the job, it’ll be a shock. I, as an observer of modern spectacle, cannot wait to see Ryan patrol the sidelines, flowing locks, barking glare and all. I, as a Raiders fan (guilty as charged), cannot wait for the first day of the post-Davis era, because that will be the first bright day in the Black Hole since the 2002 AFC Championship game.↵
