Campbell Has the Magic, Orton Does Not

Jake Delhomme relied on his teammates, namely back Jonathan Stewart, to bring the magic in the Panthers-Bears tilt. Carolina again came back from a late deficit to win. Primal screams followed.

↵Bears QB Kyle Orton had two series to respond once the Panthers slipped into the lead, but went 1-for-5 with an intentional grounding penalty on those opportunities. Devin Hester’s injured, too. Bad day for Chicago.

↵The real magic exploded in the District of Columbia, though. The Skins trailed by nine points with eight minutes left following Reggie Bush’s punt return TD. Jason Campbell wizardly drove Washington 80 yards in 4-1/2 minutes with a Clinton Portis TD as the result.

↵The Skins defense held on the ensuing series. Next play, with 3-1/2 minutes to go, Campbell nails Santana Moss for a 66-yard score and the win. Simply electric.

↵In another nailbiter, Adam Vinatieri -- who didn’t hit a field goal longer than 40 yards last night -- made a 47-yarder in the closing seconds to give Indy a regulation victory over Minnesota. Purple Jesus has been awesome in vain.↵
