Sheffield Vows to Get Beat Up Again

↵
↵Gary Sheffield, as you can see above, got locked up and beat about the head after charging at Fausto Carmona in Friday’s Tigers-Indians pumpernickel party. Sheff actually charged from first base after being plunked. Carmona presumably dealt the HBP because Miggy Cabrera went deep twice.
↵
↵Worry not, though, proud fans of Les Tigres. Sheff vows revenge for getting beat up by a pitcher:↵↵⇥After the game, Sheffield relaxed in a chair at his locker and answered a series of questions about the brawl. He said Carmona “absolutely” intended to hit him and vowed revenge. ... “I don’t care who you are, how big you are. Anytime I get hit because you’re upset about something else, we’re going to deal with it during the game, after the game, or whenever you want to deal with it.”
↵⇥
↵⇥Carmona also hit Sheffield with a pitch April 17. Sheffield said he believes Carmona has hit him a total of three times. “Three strikes, you out,” he said. “And if there’s a fourth, it gets more violent. Trust me.”↵↵Ah, the rare “fourth strike.” Sheff later says he knows who socked him during the bench-clearing melee, and vows that they “will have to deal with” him. While Sheff has moved on, feel free to enjoy a shaky TiVo-taping of the brawl until it gets yanked.↵
