Stop Stealing Yankee Stadium Toilet Seats

for those who would dare take a slice of one of the retiring baseball stadiums in the City, reports the New York Daily News. One inventive fan has already smuggled a toilet seat out of Yankee Stadium. It is, no doubt, hanging above his mantle.

↵I’m no psychologist, but I’d imagine fans devoted enough to deeply desire a broken chair or piece of bunting from an old, nasty stadium are nutty enough to ignore a boosted police presence. And honestly, it’s going to be hard for the fuzz to do much. If people want it enough, they’ll find a way around the watchful eye of the 5-0.
↵
↵The Mets are selling Shea seats in an official capacity, and law-abiding fanatics are paying $869 a pair. The Associated Press suggested last week the rest of the stadia -- bathroom fixtures and all -- may end up on the legal market. Some fan paid $2,000 for a Cardinal clubhouse urinal when Busch closed. How much would a Yanks clubhouse john draw? That’s decades of excellence in there.↵
